Welcome to STEM! STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. In this class, students will have the opportunity to use technology to solve real world problems. They will work collaboratively and creatively to develop solutions. 5th grade students will focus on the use of VEX robots through their Project Lead the Way course. 6th graders will be working on the engineering process to design air skimmers. 7th grade students will have the opportunity to combine their understanding of life science topics with STEM to model a simulation of an epidemic through the Project Lead the Way curriculum. Finally, in 8th grade, students will be working to apply their knowledge of coding to real world problems. It is my hope that students will gain the skills they need to be successful 21st century learners!
