• Food Angels

Century Elementary School's Food Angel Program began in November, 2014.  It was formed by a group of community members that attended a Blandin retreat. The group was challenged to think of an issue for the community members of Park Rapids and find a way to help.  The group saw that there was a need for Park Rapids students needing food for the weekend.  They set the slogan, "Eat Right to Learn Right!" and Food Angels were created.  The food bags are packed on Thursdays at Riverside United Methodist Church by different community groups.  Every Friday that school is in session the Food Angels deliver food bags into each enrolled child's backpack.  For the 2014-2015 school year 65 students were enrolled in the program.  This year, 176 students are enrolled in Food Angels.
