Mission
ISD 309 Mission: Preparing Today's Learners for Tomorrow's Challenges
The mission of Independent School District 309 is to work together to prepare today's learners for tomorrow's challenges through: sharing of ideas and acceptance of diversity, efficient use of resources, including staff, finances, curriculum, physical plant, technology and area wide support services, thereby providing for maximum academic and personal growth.
Welcome to Park Rapids Area Schools!
The Park Rapids Area Schools have a history of vision, excellence and success that is summed up in their vision: “Preparing today's learners for tomorrow's challenges.
A comprehensive curriculum, PK-12, provides a multitude of offerings for our students. Technology integration is transforming our student learning. Park Rapids High School and Century School implements mobile devices K-12 through classroom sets of technology. All Park Rapids Area students have opportunities of using 21st century tools in their learning on a daily basis.
For our preschool students, the district offers one of the finest early childhood programs in the state. Early Childhood Family Education, School Readiness, Head Start, Early Childhood Special Education programs and other family services are located at the Frank White Education Center. The focus of this collaborative program is our families and children. The Early Childhood staff work diligently in meeting the needs through regular classes, special events, individual programs and providing a multitude of resources for our families and children.
At Park Rapids Area High School, students can earn an equivalent of a full year of college credits while staying in school. The Park Rapids College in the Schools program saves families of the Park Rapids Area community several thousand dollars toward furthering our students’ education. Eighty percent of Park Rapids graduates go on to continue their education at a post-secondary institution. Additionally, students can choose from a full range of elective opportunities. Elective choices in fine arts, building trades, and other vocational areas make the Park Rapids Area student experience one that will build their skills for the future.
The Park Rapids Education and Activities Foundation is key to making a broad range of athletic and fine arts activities available to students. Extracurricular activities are an important part in our students’ preparation for life after high school. Park Rapids students have many extra and co-curricular activities and associations that they can be active in and learn from.
The Park Rapids Area Schools are dedicated to giving our students the skills for success. By offering a comprehensive PK-12 curriculum, all Park Rapids Area students have choices to better prepare themselves for tomorrow’s challenges.
