makes us a great community of learners!

Academic support is a top priority in all of the Park Rapids Area Schools. Programs are provided for children of all ages and at every level. Below are many of the opportunities for additional support available in each school. It is recommended that parents first talk to their child's teacher for information about academic support.

Targeted Services

Targeted Services (TS) is a program that includes students in Kindergarten through Grade 8. The program begins for Grades 1–8 in late October and culminates in late April (K–4th) or the middle of May (5th-8th). TS sessions are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:10PM–5:10PM. Kindergarten TS begins the first part of January and is in session on Tuesdays only.

During the TS sessions, teachers engage students in activities for the purpose of reinforcing specific reading, writing, spelling and math skills. The program provides students with extra time to work with teachers on core skills and concepts in a smaller group setting. Some homework completion may also possibly take place in the upper grade classrooms.

TS is offered to students who are referred to the program by a teacher who has contact with him/her during the school day and feels that the extra time spent on academics would be beneficial.

If you have any questions pertaining to the possible enrollment of your child in TS, please contact his/her classroom teacher.
