  • A Note from our Principal:

    Welcome to Century Middle School!

    We are looking forward to another exciting year of learning and growing together. The middle school years are important stepping-stones on the path to high school success.

    During middle school, students will be provided many opportunities to develop friendships, explore areas of interest and accomplish great things in both academics and activities.

    At Century Middle School we offer a diverse, Minnesota Standards-driven challenging curriculum that takes into account the 21st century learner. As a staff, we strive to be responsive to our students and their needs. We collaborate with one another through teacher team time and professional learning communities as we work to be data driven and responsive to students’ social, emotional, and academic development.

    We deeply value and encourage parents and the community as partners in the development and education of all our students. Thank you for partnering with us to maintain a positive and safe school where students can learn, grow and develop valuable life skills. I highly encourage you to talk with your middle schooler daily about their experiences at school; their friends, daily activities and learning.

    STUDENTS:

    • With Christmas vacation right around the corner, let’s have fun next week. We will have the following dress up days-

    Monday, December 18: Pajama Day (shoes must be worn at all times, no slippers)

    Tuesday, December 19: Ugly Sweater Day

    Wednesday, December 20: White Out Day

    Thursday, December 21: Jersey/Sports Day

    Friday, December 22: Character Day- 5th grade dress as Gingerbread Man, 6th grade dress as Reindeer, 7th grade dress as Elves, 8th grade dress as Santa.

    • Registration for girl’s winter softball conditioning and skill refinement for grades 7-12 is now open. Forms are available in the office. Deadline to sign up is December 20.
    • There will not be Targeted Services or 8th hour on Thursday, December 21.

    STUDENTS:

    • 8th grade boys and girls choir will be together today during 3rd 7th grade will have choir during 4th hour.
    • NO general music for 6th grade and NO band for 5th grade today.
    • Choir practice will be: 1:30-2:00 is 6th grade

          2:00-2:30 is 7th grade

          2:30-3:00 is 8th grade

    • Our choir concert will be this evening at 7:00 p.m.
