In math we completed chapter 1, focusing on addition strategies, and are now beginning chapter 2 which focuses on subtraction stragegies. Please continue working on addition and subtraction fact practice at home with your child!
We are working on lesson 4 in our reading series. We have read 2 Henry and Mudge stories, learned about Alphabetical Order, subjects, predicates, and nouns. We read stories to discover the author's purpose of writing a story and cause and effect. Additionally, we have worked on questions and statements.
This week we reviewed fire safety. We had scheduled a visit from the fire fighters, but, while here presenting, they were paged and had to leave to put out a grass fire!
Next week we'll switch out our science books for social studies and begin learning about the continents.
Please make time at least 4 nights per week for homework. Your child should be studying the Unit 4 words on the back of the homework calendar.
